The Homeschool Mother's Journal
It’s time to share a little bit of life through The Homeschool Mother’s Journal.   Thanks for joining my   journey!!
In my life this week…
Upward basketball season has come to a close.  Our kids did not play but because my husband is the children’s pastor at our church we spent a lot of time at Upward practices and games.  The season ended with a celebration on Monday night. We have so many people involved that the event is held at a performing arts theater in our city and there were 2 events. How awesome that we have the opportunity to touch the lives of so many for Christ.  The rest of the week went by without veering from the norm too much.  The kids and I continued walking in the mornings; my hubby even joined us a few times. Friday we spent the day with dad.
In our homeschool this week…
Our week started out a little rough.  I mentioned a few weeks back that I am working on organizing the bonus room in our house.  Last weekend, I moved all the boxes into the school room so we could put up bookshelves.  That was great except we were really busy over the weekend so I did not get finished and come Monday morning, our school room was full of boxes.  So, we did a few subjects at the kitchen table and then took the afternoon to finish getting the school room back in order.  We made up for it mid-week with the kids working ahead so that we could spend Friday with dad.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
Team Impact came to our town this week.  We went on Friday evening to see them.  If you’ve never heard of them, they are a group of REALLY strong men who do amazing feats of strength.  It’s pretty cool but the best part is that they all have a testimony of what God has done in their lives and they take a lot of time during their program to share the good news of Christ with the audience.
My favorite thing this week was…
Thursday evening!  A friend stopped by with a dozen hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts for our family.  No reason for them except he knows we LOVE them and he just wanted to bless us!
Questions/thoughts I have…
Anyone have a recommendation for a program or curriculum for typing……….or I guess in today’s world it would be keyboarding?  I need something for my 8-year-old.  As a side note, it would be great if it were inexpensive or free.
Things I’m working on…
I have spent a lot of time this week preparing clothes to be consigned at the bi-annual consignment sale that takes place here in our little town.  My hope is to make a little extra cash to use for curriculum purchases for next year.
I’m cooking…
I tried a new dish this week.  Spicy Chicken Lasagna Rolls from Kraft.  They were yummy!  Definitely a meal to go into the rotation of favorites!!
I’m grateful for…
My husband!
I’m praying for…
Friends in Louisville who have a new baby boy.  He was delivered at 26 weeks weighing 2 pounds 9 oz.  All things considered, he is doing well.  The Lord is definately watching over him.  If you have a moment, please lift a prayer for little Gabriel, his parents and his 4 big sisters!

Joy to you!

  1. Such a tiny baby!!! My 6th was born 7 weeks early, and we spend a couple of weeks in the NICU. I’ll be praying for little Gabriel & his family as they probably have a long few weeks ahead of them. Keep us posted, if you can!

Thanks for stopping by LivingMyPortion. I'd love to hear from you!
